Abstract
The present study was conducted to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of plants Bryophyllum calcinum and Achyranthes aspera on adenine induced chronic kidney disease in rats on 48 adult healthy male Wistar rats (12-15 weeks of age). Rats were divided into 8 groups-I (Normal control), II (Adenine control), III (Aqueous extract-AQ. EX. of B.C.), IV (AL. EX. of B.C.), V (Aqueous extract-AQ. EX. of A.A.), VI (AL. EX. of A.A.), VII (Biherbal -BIH. AQ. EX., 3:1), VIII (Biherbal-BIH. AL. EX., 3:1). All groups had six rats each. All the rats were numbered group wise and individually. Group II was given Adenine chemical @ 200 mg/kg body weight. CKD was induced in group II. After 28th day groups III to VIII were given AQ., AL. and BIH. plant EX. of B.C. and A.A.
