Abstract
Agriculture is the most pivotal sector of Indian economy in the
current phase of development. Therefore, the transformation of traditional
agriculture to modern agriculture is a challenge to fulfill the requirements
of ever increasing population. Moreover, the role of scientific agriculture in
the economic development of India can never be under estimated as it
contributes about 38.00 per cent to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
and 60.00 per cent to total export. Over three-fourth (77.00 per cent) of
India's populations live in the rural area and directly or indirectly depend
on agriculture for their livelihood. Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) is the
important instrument of transfer of technology at grass-root level.
