Abstract
The present study was undertaken with the object of knowing the reproductive performance pertaining to age at first calving, interval between parturition and post-partum first and fertille heat and intercalving period of Kankrej and its exotic crossbreds (Kankrej x Jersey and Kankrej x Holstein-Friesian). In addition, the incidences of reproductive disorders viz., anoestrum, repeat breeding and pregnancy losses prevalent in the farms under study were assessed by periodical sexual health control programme during the period of study (March 1982 to February, 1983). The present study was carried out at the Cattle Breeding Farm, Mandvi, Livestock Research Station, Dantiwada and the Dairy Herd of Shri Surat Panjarapole Project, Surat on 504 breedable females including 53 Kankrej heifers, 17 Kankrej crossbred heifers, 413 Kankrej cows and 21 Kankrej crossbred cows.
