Abstract
Cataract, the opacity of crystalline lens is regarded as major cause of blindness affecting dogs and different species of animals. Clinical study on extracapsular cataract extraction with intraocular lens implantation was conducted on 14 eyes of 13 dogs with mature cataract selected. Of 34 dogs presented with history of visual impairment due to cataract. Out of 34 dogs the incidence of cataract was higher in Spitz, and females were affected more than males. Unilateral cataract was observed in 9 cases whereas bilateral involvement was in 25 cases
