dc.description.abstractAn experiment was conducted at Livestock Research Station, College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Anand Agricultural University, Anand to study the milkability traits. The experiment was conducted on 24 milking cows i.e. 12 triple crossbred cows (HF (25%) x Jersey (25%) x Kankrej (50%)) and 12 Kankrej cows. The triple crossbreds were weaned whereas Kankrej cows were unweaned. All the cows were in second to fourth parity and in mid lactation stage a t the start of the experiment. All the cows were hand milked twice in a day at 5.30 a.m. onwards in the morning and 5.30 p.m onwards in the evening. The duration of the experiment was for six months i.e. from August-2007 to January-2008 covering two seasons viz. hot-humid (August-September) and cold-dry (October-January).en_US
