A field experiment was conducted to study effect of spacing, zinc and boron nutrition on growth, yield and quality of guava var. Sardar, during the year 2015-16 at Horticultural Research and Extension Station, Devihosur (Haveri), University of Horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot. Significantly highest plant height and plant spread (E-W) were recorded in wider spacing 6 m x 6 m which was found on par with 6 m x 3 m spacing. Significantly highest North-South plant spread was in 6 m x 3 m spacing. Total number of flowers per plant, fruit weight, fruit length, fruit diameter, fruit volume, pulp weight and yield per plant were found to be significantly higher in spacing of 6 m x 6 m, which was followed by 6 m x 3 m, whereas significantly highest yield per hectare was found in the closer spacing (3 m x 3 m). Significantly higher TSS, total sugars, ascorbic acid, TSS to acid ratio and sugar to acid ratio and lower titratable acidity was recorded in 6 x 6 m spacing. Highest values for plant height, plant spread (E-W) were found in N4 (ZnSO4 and borax each of at 0.5%) treatment and highest North-South in N2 (ZnSO4 @ 0.5%) nutrition. The treatment N4 (ZnSO4 and borax each of @ 0.5%) nutrition showed significantly minimum days taken for flower initiation, fifty per cent flowering and highest number of flowers per plant, per cent fruit set, yield per plant, yield per hectare, fruit weight, fruit length, fruit diameter, fruit volume, pulp weight. Significantly highest TSS, ascorbic acid, total sugar, TSS to acid ratio, reducing sugar, sugar to acid ratio and lowest titrable acidity was recorded in the N4 (ZnSO4 and borax each of @ 0.5%) nutrition. The treatment S1N4 (6 m x 6 m spacing with ZnSO4 and borax each @ 0.5%) recorded significantly highest plant height, total sugar and sugar to acid ratio. Significantly highest yield (19.70 t/ha) and highest benefit cost ratio (3.25) was recorded in S3N4 (3 m x 3 m spacing with RDF and foliar spray of ZnSO4 and borax @ 0.5%) nutrition.en_US
