Growing of flowers and gardening have been practiced in India for many centuries. Use of flowers which has been largely limited to offering in temple is becoming an integral part of social, cultural and religious activities. Among different flowers, rose has a unique place and however, growing flowers on commercial base is a recent trade, rose growing has become one of the most profitable agro-based industries. Today, the cultivation of rose is recognized as a lucrative profession with potential of higher returns per unit area than the most of field and even some horticulture crops. However, for realization of potential of this crop, farmers should adopt scientific rose cultivation, for which it is of prime importance that they should first inculcate positive attitude towards rose cultivation. This fact led the researcher to make investigation in the direction of developing the scale and measuring the attitude of farmers towards rose cultivation. Further, rose cultivators might be facing many constraints because of which they could not exploit fully the potential of this crop. This also necessitates that the constraints faced by farmers in adopting rose cultivation should also be studied.en_US
