Abstract
The pot experiment was carried out on sandy loam soil at the net house of the Dept. of Agril. Chem. and Soil Science, AAU, Anand, Gujarat during the summer season (2013) for two months to study the “Effect of decomposition and N- release rate of organic manures on yield and chemical composition of maize (Zea mays L.)”. The experiment was laid out in a Completely Randomized Block design concept, comprising eleven treatments i.e. Control and combinations of five levels of different manures (FYM @ 10 t ha-1, Poultry manure @ 2 t ha-1, Neem cake @ 2 t ha-1, Castor cake @ 2 t ha-1 and Vermicompost @ 2 t ha-1) and two levels of nitrogen (100 % and 75 % RDN) which were repeated three times.
