Abstract
A field investigation was carried out at the Agriculture College Agronomy Farm of Gujarat Agricultural University, Anand, on sandy loam soil during the kharif season of the year 1982 to study effect of plant density per hill and fertilizer levels on yield if bajra (Pennisetum americanum L.), variety CJ-104. Fourteen treatments comprising all possible combinations of methods of transplanting and dibbling the seeds each at various levels per hill along with drilling method of sowing viz., (I) normal drilling, (ii) one seed dibble per hill, (iii) two seed dibble per hill, (iv) three seed-dibble per hill, (v) one plant-transplant per hill, (vi) two plant-transplant per hill and (vii) three plant-transplant per hill and two doses of fertilizer viz., (I) 80 kg N + 40 kg P2O5 and (ii) 120 kg N + 60 kg P2O5 per hectare were included in this investigation. Randomized block design with four replications was adopted for this study.
