An investigation was carried out in Department of Floriculture and Landscape Architecture, at Regional Horticultural Research and Extension Centre, GKVK campus, Bengaluru during 2015-16. The nutrient management experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) comprising of different levels of nutrients viz., 75, 100, 125 and 150 per cent RDF (120:150:100 kg NPK/ha) with mulching and 100% RDF without mulching as control. Results indicated that, application of 150 per cent RDF (180:225:150 kg NPK/ha) with mulching recorded maximum plant height (51.78 cm), more leaf area (88.62 cm2), higher number of branches (22.83) and number of suckers (11.17). The flower quality and yield attributes includes early flower bud initiation and 50 per cent flowering (73.05 and 103.60 days respectively), increased flower diameter (5.44 cm), numbers of sprays per plant (14.40), flower yield plant-1 (658.35 g) and yield hectare-1 (24.38 t) along with maximum nutrient availabity in soil and plant uptake (N, P and K). The economic analysis clearly indicate that, higher cost benefit ratio (3.52) for 150 per cent RDF with mulching. The experiment on year round plant production included six chrysanthemum varieties. Among them Arka Kirti recorded the higher number of cuttings and rooted cuttings. However, var. Arka Chandrika recorded the highest rooting percentage and root length. The longest rooted cutting and root spread was recorded in cv. Marigold during experimental period.en_US
