Abstract
India, being a predominantly agricultural country, the foundation for prosperity lies on agricultural production. Since, the task of feeding the large population which is growing at a phenomenal rate of 2.3 percent per year is main problem of Indian agriculture to maintain per capita net availability of food grain which is admittedly inadequate on other hand there is huge loss of food grain due to damage caused by insect pests, diseases and rodent. Hence, agricultural input, particularly pesticides play an important key role in increasing agricultural production. The effective communication is the key to increase the use of plant protection technology. The proper education on the plant protection measures and its regular action will save food grain and help in solving food grain deficiency problem. To transfer the latest technological know how to the ultimate users, a array of communication media are available, but these channels are not sufficient without careful direction or use in the right way, at the right time, to do right job, for the right purpose, with the right audience, all relation to the message. For use of communication media, there is a need of knowing the relative effectiveness of communication media and influence of farmer's background factors on the effectiveness of such communication media.
