Abstract
The field experiment was conducted at the College Agronomy Farm, B. A. College of Agriculture, Anand Agricultural University, Anand with a view to study the “Nitrogen management through organic and inorganic sources in popcorn (Zea mays everta)” during rabi season of the year 2017-18. The experiment consist of total ten treatments viz., T1: RDF (120-60-00) NPK kg/ha, T2: 100% N through FYM, T3: 100% N through vermicompost, T4: 100% N through castor cake, T5: 75% N through Urea + 25% N through FYM, T6: 75% N through Urea + 25% N through vermicompost, T7: 75% N through Urea + 25% N through castor cake, T8: 50% N through Urea + 50% N through FYM, T9: 50% N through Urea + 50% N through vermicompost and T10: 50% N through Urea + 50% N through castor cake laid out in Randomized Block Design with four replications. The soil of the experimental field was loamy sand in texture having good drainage capacity. It was low in organic carbon and nitrogen, while medium in phosphorus and potassium.
