Abstract
The present investigation entitled “Standardization of Anther Culture in Tomato
(Solanum lycopersicum L.)” was conducted at Centre for Advanced Research in Plant
Tissue Culture, Department of Agricultural Biotechnology, Anand Agricultural
University, Anand, Gujarat during the year 2020-2021. Anther culture through in vitro
callus induction and regeneration in tomato was attempted for three genotypes viz., GAT
5, ATH 15-15 and ATH 17-08 using flower buds collected from MVRS, AAU, Anand.
The present investigation comprised of selection of proper size of pollen, cold
pretreatment of flower buds, surface sterilization, callus induction, callus multiplication,
induction of somatic embryogenesis and regeneration from callus and ploidy analysis of
callus.
