Abstract
Among the pulses, chickpea is a most important rabi crop with high
acceptability and wider use. The present investigation was carried out with 58
genotypes of chickpea in randomized complete block design with three replications at
Genetics and Plant Breeding Farm, B. A. college of Agriculture, Anand Agricultural
University, Anand during rabi 2016-17. The objective of present investigation was to
estimate the extent of variability present in chickpea genotypes with respect to yield
and its component traits, genotypic and phenotypic correlations among different traits,
direct and indirect effects of different characters contributing towards seed yield by
path coefficient analysis, genetic diversity among chickpea genotypes through
Mahalanobis D2 statistics and molecular diversity using SSR marker.
