Objective of the study: The present investigation was taken up in 1977-78 in order to determine (1) The methods of showing of chicory for optimum root production in the charetar tract. (2) The requirement of organic manure and inorganic manure for tilisers for optimum root production. Methodology: The crop chicory belonging to the family Composite was selected as plant material for this study, The treatment comparision of three methods of sowing chicory seed with and without farm yard manure and different N : P levels. The strip plot split design was used with main treatment method of sowing, cross treatment P.Y.M.and sub treatment nitrogen phosphorus was adopted.en_US
