dc.description.abstractThis study was carried out on forty postpartum metritic Surti buffaloes of the College Ambulatory Clinic Centers (Chikhodra, Bedva, Sarsa) and nearby villages of Anand taluka. Buffaloes were divided into five groups each of 08 animals. The study included use of four treatment line and one control group viz., Group I- Metronidazole (500 mg) I/U for 5 days; Group II- Ciprofloxacin (1500 mg) and Tinidazole (1800 mg) I/U for 5 days; Group III- Ciprofloxacin (1500 mg) and Tinidazole (1800 mg) I/U for 5 days plus PGF2α 25 mg i/m once on first day; Group IV- Ceftiofur (long acting) @ 6.6 mg/kg subcutaneously once and Group V (control)- Normal saline I/U for 5 days. The effect of these treatment regimes were evaluated by comparing the clinical, haematological, biochemical and hormonal profile before and 6 days after treatmenten_US
