The present study was undertaken in the Division of Agricultural Botany at the Agricultural College and Research Research Institute, Vellayani with a view to evaluating the scope of colchicino technique in the improvement of chillies (Capsicum fruitescon6q, 2n=24. Four concentrations-0.15,0.25, 0.35 and 0.45 percent- of aqueous solutions of colchicine in combination with three different durations ie., 3,3 and 9 hours and two modes of application ie., seed and seedling treatments were tried and the effect of the drag as seen from the growth and performance of the plants was discussed.en_US
