Abstract
Seed-borne pathogens play a vital role in causing diseases of oilseed crops. Hence, with a view to study mycoflora and their role, seed samples of four oilseed crops viz. Castor (Ricinus communis, L.), groundnut (Arachis hypogaea, L.), sesamum (Sesamum indicum, L.) and sunflower (Helianthus annus, L.) were tested for determining the range of mycloflora associated with seeds. The isolations were made on potato dextrose agar and moist blotting paper with and without pretreatment with 0.1 percent mercuric chloride.
