Abstract
The main object of the present investigation was to study the
"Economic analysis of production and marketing of chilli (Capcicum annum L.)
in Anand district of middle Gujarat". A multi stage stratified random sampling
design was used for selecting the sample. The study covered 3 talukas, 10 villages
and 120 chilli growers (50 marginal, 37 small, 22 medium and 11 large). The
major analytical tools employed for the study were tabular analysis and
production function analysis. The study covered agricultural year 2006-07. Chilli
occupied about 13.50 per cent of the gross cropped area on sample farms and
about 88.51 per cent gross cropped area was under irrigation on sample farms
