In this study, we used five of parametric and eleven of non-parametric stability measures for analysis of genotype x environment interaction for grain yield of wheat genotypes through different locations of Northern region of India. Genotype x environment interaction is a common phenomenon in agricultural research and is one of the main complications in the selection of a stable variety. The absence of G x E interaction coupled with high yield indicates that the genotypes are suitable for general adaptation in the range of environments considered. But this ideal situation is rarely encountered, because phenotypic stability of a genotype is inversely proportional to yield. Values of stability measures have shown that genotypes with the highest grain yield need not to be most stable. Interrelationship among various parametric and non-parametric stability measures was determined by Spearman’s rank correlation. In simultaneous selection for high yield and stability, the parametric measure CV and non-parametric measures , , , ( ) and ( ) were useful in terms of correlation analysis of parametric measures, non-parametric measures and yield. Rank sum ( ) measure was found to be most suitable measure for assessing the wheat genotypes yield stability in Northern region of India.en_US
