Abstract
Total 18 preweaned crossbred (HF-75% × Kankrej-25%) calves were randomly
allocated to three dietary treatments viz. T1 (commercial low protein concentrate), T2
(commercial high protein concentrate) and T3 (farm made high protein concentrate) for 12
weeks period. All calves were offered colostrum @ 4L per day up to first 3 days and
thereafter fresh cow milk was offered @ 2L twice a day up to 84 days. The concentrate
and jowar hay were offered ad libitum from 8th and 15th day, respectively, while chaffed
NB-21 was offered @200g/d from 43 to 63 days and @300g/d from 64 to 84 days.
