Abstract
Mukhya Mantri Nishulk Dawa yojana ensures free genereic medicines for all indoor and outdoor patients. The rationale for this scheme as stated in the Government of Rajasthan literature is that a large number of people in the State are not able to afford the expenditure on their treatment. High expenditure on health care is the major cause of rural indebtedness. Thus the scheme is providing qualitative medicines and surgical treatment free of cost.
