dc.description.abstractCotton is the most important commercial cash crop, which plays important role in world as well as in national economy. India ranks first in the area under cotton cultivation in the world and second in terms of production followed by China. In India, in the year 2013-14 the total area under cotton crop was 11 million hectare with 35.6 million bales production, and 552 kg/ha average productivity. Bt. cotton was officially admitted in India for commercial cultivation in 2002–2003 crop season.en_US
