Abstract
The study entitled, “Assessment of Oxidative Stress and Biochemical Profiles in Crossbred Cows During Peripartum Period” was conducted on six crossbred cows (HF x Kankrej) during their peripartum period i.e. 45 days before parturition, On the day of parturition and 45 days after parturition to determine the status of the biochemical, physiological and hormonal status of the cows along with oxidative stress experienced by the animal during this period. All the physiological parameters such as rectal temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate and skin temperature were recorded on the day of blood collection at 7.30 am and 2.30 pm during experimental period. The blood samples were collected on day 45, 38, 31, 24, 17, 10 and 3 before parturition , on the day of parturition and on day 3, 7, 10, 15, 30 and 45 after parturition for analysing the biochemical profile, hormonal profile, minerals, enzymes and antioxidant enzymes.
