An experiment was conducted at Department of Floriculture and Landscape Architecture, Kittur Rani Channamma College of Horticulture, Arabhavi during 2014 - 2015. Ten genotypes were used for the varietal evaluation study and the genotype ACC-1 was used for the spacing and nutritional studies. Among the ten genotypes studied, maximum plant height (60.18 cm), stem girth (6.92 mm), plant spread E-W (49.26 cm), N-S (49.31 cm), number of leaves per plant (327.77), number of secondary branches, leaf area were recorded in Arka Shravya. Number of primary branches, early to reach harvest (101.00 days), number of spikes per plant (171.53) and flowers per spike (61.40) were recorded in the genotype ACC-1. Early spike initiation (84.33 days), maximum duration of flowering (54.47), flower yield (110 g/plant and 5.80 t/ha) and overall acceptability were recorded in Arka Shravya. Maximum shelf life (5.60 days) was recorded in Arka Kanaka. Flower diameter (3.44 cm) was found highest in Arka Shreeya, In the genotype ACC-1 at 90 DAT, the treatment S1F4 (60 x 30 cm; 75:45:45 kg NPK + 18.75t FYM + 5t Vermicompost /ha) recorded maximum plant spread, number of secondary branches, leaf area, early spike initiation (91.00), days taken to first harvest (101.75), duration of flowering (53.20), number of flowers per spike (39.10), number of flowers per plant (124.30), flower yield (127.05 g/plant and 6.14 t/ha), highest net return (659328.8 `/ha), gross return (11,05,200 `/ha) and B:C ratio (1.48). Plants supplied with the treatment S1F3 (60 x 30 cm; 50:30:30 kg NPK + 12.50t FYM + 2t Vermicompost /ha) were recorded maximum plant height, stem girth, flower diameter (2.60 cm), 100 flower weight (4.20 g) and shelf life (5.65 days).en_US
