Kidney diseases are commonly encountered in companion animals, and traditionally diagnosed with serum creatinine concentration (Cr), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and abnormal urinalysis findings. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a common cause of decreased quality of life in dogs and cats, as well as death. The present study was carried out for diagnosis and therapeutic management of CKD in dogs. The total number of dogs (n=18) were divided into 2 groups, viz., Group I (Healthy Group, n=6) and Group II (Therapeutic Group, n=12 CKD dogs); and the findings of clinical signs, haemato-biochemical profile and urine analysis were compared between two groups. Dogs of Group II suffering from CKD were then used for therapeutic trial.en_US
