The present study was undertaken to know the nutritional worth of soya pulp and the effect of its incorporation at varying levels on milk yield, milk composition and blood parameters in dairy cattle and its economic evaluation. Ten samples of soya pulp were procured from different soya processing plants of the state and analysed for chemical constituents and protein fractions. Twenty animals of same parity, age and average milk yield (15-25 litres per day) were distributed to four treatment groups (T0, T1, T2 and T3) of five animals each. Cows in all the groups were fed basal diet consisting of maize fodder, maize silage, concentrate mixture and wheat straw as per NRC (2001). The soya byproducts in the concentrate mixture were replaced with soya pulp at 0%, 10%, 20% and 30% levels in groups T0, T1, T2 and T3, respectively. All the diets were iso-nitrogenous. The animals of group T0 served as control. Dry matter intake (DMI) and daily milk yield (DMY) differed significantly (p<0.05) among all four treatments. Highest (p<0.05) DMI and DMY were observed in T2 group and lowest (p<0.05) values were recorded in control and T1 groups. There was no adverse effect of inclusion of soya pulp at varying levels on milk composition as milk fat%, milk SNF% and milk total solids (TS)% were similar among the groups. There was no deleterious effect of soya pulp on blood metabolites viz., blood glucose, total protein and blood urea nitrogen. Economic evaluation showed that supplementation of soya pulp reduced cost of feed and milk production. It was concluded that soya pulp can economically replace other soya byproducts viz., soya bean meal and full fat soya in the concentrate mixture up to 30% without any adverse effect on DMI, milk yield and milk composition of dairy cows.
