In selected plants of Tinnevelly senna (Cassia angustifolia Vahl, Caesalpiniaceae), wherein, the time taken from sowing to bud initiation was 38-42 days, the initiation of bud to blooming took 16 days. Anthesis commenced from 02.00 hours and was completed by 06.00 to 07.00 hours. Number of days required for completion of anthesis in an inflorescence had linear relationship with number of total buds that opened in an inflorescence. Anther dehiscence started from 08.00 to 09.00 hours and continued upto 15.00 to 16.00 hours. Pollem viability and stigma respectively remained only for the day of anthesis.en_US
