Abstract
The Government of Kenya received a loan from International Development Association (IDA) for the implementation of Kenya Agricultural Productivity and Agribusiness Project (KAPAP). The Ministry of Agriculture, as part of KAPAP, intends to establish four Agro - Food Parks (AFP) with agro-processing facilities and marketing infrastructures to assist Value Chain operators to achieve economies of scale and market reach. As a step towards this end, the Ministry, utilizing a portion of the KAPAP loan, has recruited a consortium of international and Kenyan consultancy firms - Voyants Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Global Agri-systems and Otieno Odongo Partners. The Consortium will work with the national project team in the agribusiness component to provide technical services for the establishment of the AFPs. The target outcome will be to fuel Agribusiness by the successful nodal set-up of appropriate infrastructure and services for a Value Chain.
