Abstract
The field experiment was conducted at Horticulture farm, S.K.N. College of Agriculture, Jobner (Rajasthan) during rabi season 2012-2013 using randomized block design with three replication. The treatment consisted of four levels of nitrogen (0,75,100,125 per cent of RDN) and four levels of zinc (0,2,4, and 6kg ha-1 ), were applied to the crop knol-khol var. Early White Vienna as soil application. The results revealed that the application of nitrogen upto 100 per cent of RDN significantly increased the diameter of knob, volume of knob, days taken to knob initiation and complete maturity of knob, fresh weight of knob plant-1, knob yield plot-1, total knob yield ha-1, protein and ascorbic acid content, nitrogen and zinc content in knob, nitrogen and zinc uptake in knob. Whereas plant height, leaf area index were significantly increased also upto nitrogen application @ 75 per cent of recommended dose of nitrogen.
