Abstract
Present study “Isolation and partial purification of antimicrobial peptides from flowers of selected ornamental plants” was carried out with the following objectives:
To isolate and purify antimicrobial peptides from flowers of Pisum
sativum,Catharanthus roseus, Rosa indica, Lantana indica and Hibiscus
rosa-sinensis.
To evaluate the antibacterial activity of the isolated antimicrobial
peptidessagainst E.coli andS.aureus.
To look for alternatives for harmful pesticides in eliminating pathogenic
infections in plants.
