Abstract
This study attempted to find out the dominant conflict management styles and prominent factors of conflict management among executives. For the purpose of the study one large scale textile industry (Trident group) and 20 small scale textile units were selected. Five executives were selected from each small scale unit and twenty five executives were selected from a large scale unit. The survey was related to five styles of conflict management i.e. Competing/Controlling, Accommodating, Avoiding, Collaborating and Compromising. .It was found that the Collaborator is the most prominent style among the executives of textile industry followed by Compromiser, Accommodator, Controller and the least prominent is Avoider. It was found that the most effecting factor of collaborator style i.e. listening to others and finding out conclusion that all were willing to try .The most prominent factor of Avoider style which was ‘not to make the conflict personal’ and the least effecting factor of Avoider style was ‘removal of respondents from the situation’.
