Abstract
Studies were conducted on integrated management of baeterial blight “anthem/mar [monopodis pv. pum‘cae) in pomegranate cv. Kesar at department of fruit science, Kittur Rani channamma College of Horticulture, Arabhavi and at Lokapur, Bagalkot district during the year 2010-201 1.The investigation comprises of three experiment viz.,(i) In vitro evaluation of chemicals and antibiotics on Xamhomonas axonopodis pv. punlcae at laboratory conditions ,(ii) evaluation of chemicals and antibiotics on bacterial blight incidence on growth of pomegranate (pot culture experiment) and (iii) field investigation of integrated management of pomegranate bacterial blight An in vitro study reveals that the pathogen found to appear on leaves, twigs as well as fruits. However it was more on leaves followed by twigs and fruits. Further the chemicals copper oxychloride 2000 ppm + Streptocyline 500 ppm was found to be more effective with the maximum inhibition of (37.1 1 mm) followed by streptocyline 500 ppm (36.76 mm). In green house studies the treatment Copper oxychloride 0.3 percent + Streptocyline 0.05 per cent shows least leaf area infection (5.17° 0), less per cent leaves infection (7.20%), least lesions per leaf (1.1), highest number of leaves per shoot (49.11) and plant height (82.28cm).The number of shoots per plant was maximum (6.10) in the treatment of Capper oxychloride 0.3 per cent + Bacterinashak 0.05 per cent. The plants treated with Copper oxychloride (0.3%) + Streptocyline (0.05%)+ micronutrients (MgSo4, Boron, ZnSo4, CaSO4 lg/lit) shows least leaf area infection (6.67%), least lesions per leaf (1.62), lowest leaves infection (5.45%), highest plant growth (0.35m), shoot extension growth (37.30 cm) ,fruits retained (111.06) and link yield per hectare (12.60t/ ha).The highest TSS (14.30%) and fruit weight (174.50g) was observed in Copper oxychloride (0.30 o) + Streptocyline (0.05%) + Salicyclic acid 4ml/lit., where as highest total sugars (10.90%), highest aril weight (71.73%) was observed in treatment sprayed with COpper oxychloride (03° 0) + Bacterinashak (0.05%) + micronutrients ((MgSo4, Boron, ZnSo4, CaSo4 lg/lit).
