Abstract
The area of Dholka taluka (Bhal-Nal) though small, has several problems for its maximum crop production. This area is of particular importance for efficient soil management because of its inadequate drainage, soil salinity and/or sodicity, semi-arid climate and poor quality under ground water for irrigation purpose. With a view to obtain the information on physico chemical properties as well as for evaluating different diagnostic techniques for salinity and alkali appraisal of soils, surface soil samples were collected each from forty one locations.
