Abstract
An investigation was conducted to evaluate the genotypes, to know the effect of spacing and growth regulators in annual chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum coronarium L.) during the year 2013-2014 at the Department of Floriculture and Landscape Architecture, K.R.C. College of Horticulture Arabhavi (UHSB). Among the six genotypes studied, the maximum plant height (103.00 cm) was recorded in genotype AACS-2. Whereas, the genotype Sarpan White had maximum plant spread N-S and E-W direction (39.80 cm and 44.85 cm), number of branches per plant (29.15) and leaf area per plant (4669.52 cm2). The maximum stem girth (18.99 mm) and chlorophyll content were observed in genotype Haryana Collection. Early flowering (52.25 days) and maximum duration of flowering were noticed in the genotype Sarpan yellow whereas, the highest flower yield per plant (194.50 g), flower yield per hectare (10.80 t) and seed yield per hectare (656.05 kg) were obtained in Haryana collection. All the growth, yield and quality parameters were influenced by spacing and growth regulators. The treatment combination of 60 x 30 cm spacing with GA3 @ 200 ppm spray had results in highest plant height (109.60 cm) and early flowering (38.67 days). The treatment combination of 60 x 60 cm, cycocel @ 1000 ppm results maximum duration of flowering, more number of flowers per plant (102.40), shelf life of flowers (75.90 hr.) and flower yield per plant (302.08 g). The treatment combination of 60 x 30 cm, cycocel @ 1000 ppm produced highest flower yield per hectare (13.78 t). Whereas, the treatment combination of 60 x 30 cm, GA3 @ 200 ppm produced maximum seed yield per hectare (343.77 kg).
