Abstract
The productivity and yield of cultivated rice, is severely affected by many diseases. Among them blast is the most destructive, caused by Magnaporthe oryzae, a taxon recently segregated from M. grisea. The disease often causes a significant yield loss, as high as 70-80% during epidemic conditions. The disease has never been eradicated from the regions of rice cultivation
