The present study was conducted entitled ‘Entrepreneurial Behaviour of the Self-Help Group Members under National Rural Livelihood Mission’. The study was conducted in the Banda district of Uttar Pradesh. There are 08 Community Development Blocks in Banda district; out of them, one CD Block Badhokhar Khurd was selected randomly. In Badhokhar Khurd block there is a total of 56 Gram Panchayats, out of these 6 Gram Panchayats were selected randomly for the present study where the SHGs under NRLM were functioning. The Gram Panchayat wise details of the SHGs along with the list of SHG members were prepared. Altogether 120 respondents were selected for the present study by using multi-stage proportionate random sampling. The data was collected through the personal interview by using a structured interview schedule by the researcher himself. The collected data were processed and analyzed by applying appropriate statistical tools. It was observed that the majority of the respondents belonged to the middle age group having education up to high school level. The majority of the respondents belongs nuclear family system with small family size. The study also revealed that agriculture with the business was found as a major occupation by the majority of the respondents with a medium level of annual family income. The variables viz. extension contact, social participation, marketing orientation and economic motivation were scored as the medium. After summing up the scores of all the seven components of the entrepreneur behaviour it was found in the medium level category. The coefficient of correlation reflects that education, annual income, occupation, social participation, mass media use, extension contact, economic motivation and market orientation had a positive and significant relationship with entrepreneurial behaviour of respondents. The lack of knowledge about the market trend of & limited marketing of SHG products, lack of awareness on marketing strategies and low price of SHG products were found as major constraints. To attain the objectives of the mission it is suggested that required more awareness about the market trend should, need of a different platform for marketing of SHG products, providing timely the revolving fund from NRLM and easy loan procedure etc different aspects to make the group business sustainable.
