Banda University of Agriculture and Technology, Banda

Banda University of Agriculture and Technology, Banda has been established as a full-fledged State University, having unique honour of being the “First Agricultural University of Bundelkhand Region”. The University was notified vide Government Order No. 301/79-V-1-10-1 (Ka) 27-2009 Lucknow and established on 2nd March 2010 under Uttar Pradesh Agriculture University Act (Sanshodhan) 1958 Gazette-Adhiniyam 2010. Initially it was named as “Manyawar Shri Kanshiram Ji University of Agriculture and Technology, Banda”, which was changed as “Banda University of Agriculture and Technology, Banda” vide Uttar Pradesh Agriculture University Act (Sanshodhan) Adhiniyam, 2014, No. 1528(2)/LXXIX-V-1-14-1(Ka)-13-2014 dated 4th December 2014. The University has been established for the development of the agriculture and allied sectors in the Uttar Pradesh on the whole and Bundelkhand region in particular. It is committed to serve the Bundelkhand region with trinity concept, i.e. complete integration of teaching, research and extension for the development of agriculture and allied sectors in order to ensure food security and enhance socio-economic status of inhabitants. State Government of Uttar Pradesh has assigned the University with the responsibilities of (a) human resource generation and development, (b) generation and perfection of technologies, and (c) their dissemination to the farmers, orchardists and dairy farmers in the Chitrakoot Dham and Jhansi divisions. The Chirtrkoot Dham Division consists of four districts, namely Banda, Chitrakoot (Karvi), Mahoba and Hamirpur whereas Jhansi Division consists of Jhansi, Lalitpur and Jalaun (Orai) districts.

    “Utilization Pattern of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Among the Farmers of Sitapur District, Uttar Pradesh”

    The study was conducted during 2021-2022 in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh. The study was conceptualized under “Ex-post Facto” Research design. Sitapur district consist of 19 blocks, out of them Pahala block was selected through purposively. That is 143 villages contains in Pahala block out of them eighth village was selected through simple random sampling by using lottery method. The list of PM-KISAN was prepared and 5% was selected as respondents from each village through proportionate sampling. Altogether 146 respondents were selected for study purpose. The data was collected through personal interview and use appropriate statistical tools for data analysis. The findings of study show that majority of respondents, were belongs to middle age (67.12%), male (85.61%), Illiterate (49.31%), joint family (69.17%), medium size of family (78.08 %), marginal farmers (81.50%), occupation, only agriculture purpose (49.31%), medium annual income (83.56%), medium source of information (81.50%), social participation no member of any organization (65.76%), medium economic motivation (71.92%), medium risk orientation (60.28%).In this study find out utilization pattern of the respondents. The utilized their benefits show that majority of respondents (58.90%), in agriculture purpose followed by both (26.04%), (Ag+ Non-Ag.) than (15.06 %) nonagriculture purpose. The variable viz, age, education, land holding, annual income, and economic motivation, were associated with utilization pattern at 5 percent level of significance. The other variables, and source of information, social participation, risk orientation not associated with utilization pattern. But there are many constraints faced by the respondents at the time of registration, aadhar card online, banking, use of ICTs, check about status of installments etc. There is still need some more improvement for the uplift of farmers, like timely distribution of installments pm-kisan beneficiaries and increase the amount per installments.
