Effect of L-Cysteine Hydrochloride and Cinnamomum Zeylanicum on Freezability of Murrah Bull Semen
(ANDUAT,Kumarganj, Ayodhya, 2021-08) Alam, Dr. Kabir; Srivastva, Dr. Sushant
The present study was conducted to find out efficiency of semen production and improvement in quality of frozen semen of murrah buffalo bulls with incorporation of L-Cysteine Hydrochloride, aqueous and ethanolic extract of Cinnamomum zeylanicum as an additive in tris dilutor. The quality of fresh semen was evaluated on the basis of mass motility, initial motility, per cent abnormality, livability, sperm penetration distance (SPD) travelled by spermatozoa and per cent HOS positive spermatozoa. The significance variation among murrah bulls for volume, initial motility, livability, abnormality, sperm penetration distance (SPD) and HOS was found. The post thaw semen quality was assessed using motility, liveability, abnormality and in vitro fertility test (SPD & HOST) in frozen thaw semen and significant variation was observed for post thaw motility, liveability and HOS positive sperm & SPD among the bulls and among treatments. A significant increase in post thaw motility, liveability, SPD value and HOS positive sperm was found after incorporation of additives. Improvement in post thaw motility was observed as 12 percent, 13 percent and 8 percent in Cysteine Hcl, aqueous extract of Cinnamomum zeylanicum and ethanolic extract of Cinnamomum zeylanicum. It could be inferred that incorporation of semen additive improves the post thaw quality of semen. Cysteine Hcl and aqueous extract of Cinnamomum zeylanicum is an promising semen additive which, can be used further to improve the quality of frozen-thawed semen and its fertilizing capacity from the increase penetrability and response to sperm cells to hypo-osmotic solution which is in turn reveals about the functional and structural normality of sperm cell.
