Effect of weather variability on growth and yield of wheat varieties (Triticum aestivum L.)
(ANDUAT, Kumarganj, Ayodhya, 2021-07-28) Prince, .; Singh, A.K.
A field experiment was conducted on the student instructional farm of A.N.D. University of Agriculture & Technology, Kumarganj, Ayodhya during the year 2020-21. The experiment was comprised of three different dates of sowing viz. (15th Nov., 25th Nov. and 5th Dec.) and three varieties (viz. NW-5054, DBW-252 and HD-2967). The results revealed that 15th Nov date of sowing/weather variability was found congenial weather to harvest higher yield of wheat. NW-5054 variety of wheat was found most suitable for cultivation under congenial weather condition. Wheat crop sown on 15th Nov. took 121 days for maturity however, it sown on 5th Dec. took 115 days for maturity from the date of sowing. Maximum thermal use efficiency requirement from sowing to maturity were obtained in 15th Nov. weather variability / date of sowing and variety NW-5054.

(ANDUAT, Kumarganj, Ayodhya, 2021-07-24) Sharma, Rahul; Mishra, A.N.
An investigation entitled “Studies on Crop weather calendar of major crops of north eastern plain zone of U.P.” was carried out through the collection of historical weather data major crop data and insect pest data. The results revealed that, climatic normal for wheat, T max (37.90C) and T min (19.10C), in 15th week was found. for chickpea, The highest total rainfall in 41th week (6.5 mm), highest T max in (340C), 13th week and T min (21.10C) in 41th wee; For mustard crop T maxi (31.20C) in 43th week and T mini (19.30C) in 42th week; For rice crop highest rainfall (71.5mm) in 29th week T maxi (35.60C) in 25th week and T min (26.60C) in 25th, For maize crop rainfall (71.5mm) in 29th week T maxi (35.60C) in 25th week and T min(26.60C) in 25th & 26th week RHm (90.1%) in 33th week were found suitable. In wheat at seedling stage T maxi (30-320C) and T min (14-170C) and highest T maxi during milking stage of the crop (32-340C) and T min (14-15 0C). In chickpea T maxi during pod maturity (30-350C). In mustard during flowering maxi (20-250C) and T mini at (5.5 to 60C). During the pod filling stage was found (22- 240C) and T mini (4-70C). Whereas RHm (95-97%) and RHe (45-52%). At this stage, In rice During the seedling phase and transplanting T maxi and T min (30-340C) and (24-260C) respectively, In maize At maturity T max, T min RHm, RHe was recorded (12-360C), (18-.220C), (90-92%) and (40-52%) respectively, were found congenial weather for better yield. For army worm in wheat T maxi ( 22-300C) and T min (7.5-150C), RHm (92-94%), Gram pod borer T maxi (23-290C), T min (6-130C), RH m( 90-94%).,for Aphid T maxi (23.20C), T min (6.70C), 7 Okta cloud cover in the sky is the congenial condition for the mustard aphid. RH maxi (91.3%) RH min (70-85%) and (2-11) mm of rainfall. for Yellow stem borer T maxi (320C), T min (26.20C), RHm (90.6%) RHe (67.8%) and (48) mm of rainfall. For maize borer T maxi (34.50C), T min (25.20C), RH m (90.1%) RHe (72.6) and rainfall (29.1) mm. for shoot fly in maize T maxi (32-340C), T min (24-260C), RHm (89-90%), T min were found. Congenial weather conditions for infestation.

Study of perception of climete awereness contraints and impact of weather forecast in Bahraich District(UP)
(ANDUAT, Kumarganj, Ayodhya, 2013-06-26) Singh, Gulab; Singh, A.K.
The present investigation entitled “Study of perception of climate awareness constraints and impact of weather forecast in Bahraich district (U.P.)” was done through Benchmark survey and weather based Agroadvisory at selected- Banpurwa, District- Bahraich (UP) during year 2011-2012 to identify the production constraints; to assess the perception of farmers about climate change; Vulnerability assessment of major food crops grown in the area and Impact assessment of weather based agromet advisories. Results reveal that Fragmentation of lands, low seed replacement rate, Irregular supply of water in canal, Sandy loam texture of the soil and technical knowhow, moisture stress at terminal growth stages and low risk bearing capacity were identified as the major production constraints. Soil nutrients status decreased due to climate change. Sowing of the crops delayed in the recent last five years due to climate change variability. By follow up the weather based advisory for timely sowing of wheat crop (Nov.15) provides the profit of Rs 8400/ha. Risk of four days in the adoption of the agromet advisory for fungicide and spraying costs lossed 8.5q/ha yield which is equivalent to Rs 10,200/ha.

Influence of Ei-Nino on rainfall and crop production in Eastern Uttar Pradesh
(ANDUAT, Kumarganj, Ayodhya, 2021-02-20) Kumar, Ajeet; Singh, A.K.
The district wise monthly rainfall data for various districts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh recorded during the years 1981 to 2016. The rainfall seasons were computed year wise for various districts of Eastern U.P. Average area, production & productivity of the crops in the El Nino years were worked out and comparison with overall average normal value. was worked out during the period considered for present study from 1981 to 2016, 10 moderate and strong and two weak El Nino events out of 36 years. The average rainfall for the El Nino years was calculated and compared with the normal rainfall for the years 1981 to 2016 during the four different seasons. The percentage change in seasonal rainfall during the El Nino years compared to normal rainfall computed for the seasons in different districts. Average rainfall during the S-W monsoon season during the El Nino years was less than the normal rainfall in all the district of Eastern UP. The average summer season rainfall during El Nino years from March to May was less than the normal rainfall in Eastern U.P. The average rainfall during winter season during El Nino years from January to February was less than the normal rainfall in all the districts of Eastern U.P. The average rainfall during the post monsoon (October to December) during El Nino years was almost less than the normal rainfall in Eastern U.P. during the years with El Nino compared to normal rainfall.

Effect of crop weather interaction on mustard (Brassica juncea L.)
    (ANDUAT,Kumarganj, 2021-02-20) Kumar, Amit; Singh, A.K.
The present investigation entitled “Effect of Crop weather interaction on mustard (Brassica juncea L.)” were conducted at Agromet. Research Farm of Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology Kumarganj, Ayodhya (U.P.) during rabi season of 2016-2017 and 2017-18. Treatment consisted of 3 sowing dates i.e. 5 October, 20 October and 5 November and 4 planting geometry i.e. 45X10, 45X15, 45X20 and 45X25 and replicated 4 times. Result reveal that 20 Oct date of sowing exhibited higher plant height, leaf area index, dry matter accumulation, maximum numbers of siliquae plant-1, maximum length of siliquae and maximum numbers of seeds siliquae-1, yield (q ha-1) followed by 5 November date of sowing during both the years.
