(JNKVV, 2015) Patel, Rahul; Kulhare, P.S.
Thesis Abstract The present study was under taken entitled “Studies on available nutrient status and recommendation for deficient nutrients to major crops of Hoshangabad district” For the study 305 surface soil samples (0-15cm) were collected from 7 blocks ( Babai, Bankhedi, Hoshangabad, , Itarsi, Pipariya, Seoni- Malwa and Sohagpur ) of Hoshangabad district under AICRP on MSN Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, College of Agriculture, JNKVV, Jabalpur (M.P) during the off season of 2013-14. The samples were prepared and analyzed for physico-chemical properties and available nutrients, correlation between soil properties and available nutrients were workout and recommended the deficient nutrients for major crops of Hoshangabad district. The soils of Hoshangabad district having the soil pH varied from 6.00-8.5 (mean 7.65), EC 0.05-0.80 dSm-1 (mean 0.16 dSm-1), OC 1.40-8.75 gkg-1 (mean 4.92 gkg-1), CaCO3 29.2-64.3 gkg-1 (mean 46 gkg-1), available N 195-246 kgha-1 (mean 226 kgha-1). (low), P 26-42 kgha-1 (mean 32 kgha-1) (high), K 343-424 kgha-1 (mean 380kgha-1) (medium), S 8-18 mgkg-1 (mean 13 mgkg-1), Zn 0.30-0.60 mgkg-1 (mean 0.47 mgkg-1) (low), Cu 1.1-1.8 mgkg-1 (mean 1.52 mgkg-1), Fe 7-26 mgkg-1 (mean 11.26 mgkg-1), Mn 12-25 mgkg-1 (mean 17.57 mgkg-1) and B 1-2.5 mgkg-1 (mean 1.53 mgkg-1). In the whole district, the mean deficiency of N 45-71% (mean 56%), P 3-11% (mean 5%), K 2-13% (mean 5%), S 66-97% (mean 81%), Zn 59- 100% (mean 81%), Fe 6-20% (mean 8%) and Mn 13% (mean 1%) were observed. The most deficient nutrient were N, S and Zn needed to apply 156-180 kg N, 78-90 kg P2O5, 52-60 kg K2O, 26-30 kg S, 5-6.5 kg Zn, 10 kg Fe and 5 kg Mn ha-1 for rice/wheat crop. The corresponding value for soybean/chickpea is 26-30 kg N, 104- 120 kg P2O5, 26-30 kg K2O, 52-60 kg S, 5-6.5 kg Zn, 10 kg Fe and 5 kg Mn ha-1. The correlation between pH and CaCO3, were found positive and significant. The relationship between EC and OC available N, S, Zn, Mn and B were found positive and significant. The relationship between organic carbon and available N, Zn, Cu, Fe Mn and B were found positive and significant. The Correlation between available N and Zn, Cu, Fe, Mn and B were found positive and significant. The Correlation between available P and Zn, P and Fe, available S and Mn, Zn and Cu, Fe and Mn, Cu and Fe, Cu and Mn, Mn and available B were found positive and significant. The relationship between pH and EC, OC, available N, S, Zn, Cu, Fe and Mn were found to be negative and statistically significant. Correlation between OC and CaCO3 and available K and Fe were found negative and significant. The relationship between CaCO3 and available N, Zn, Cu, Fe and Mn were found to be negative and statistically significant.
