This age is characterized by strong desire to leave childhood behind and play an independent role. In this quest, adolescents chalk out ambitious plans for future life. They frequently seem to reach a criterion of excellence in doing so they set for themselves a level of aspiration the standard they hope to attain. Aspiration overemphasizes the desire to improve or to raise above one's present status. The level of aspiration is best explained Mas a frame of reference involving Self esteem or alternatively as a standard with reference to witch an individual experiences, success or failure", (James Drever/ 1968).Thus, when a person is involved in a task. he sets for himself a new standard to conquer it that may be called level of aspiration.
