DEGRADATION OF PESTICIDES IN WHEAT DUE TO STORAGE AND PROCESSING
(Anand Agricultural University, Anand, 2007) PRANOY PAL; DR. P.G. SHAH
In order to study the effect of storage and processing on degradation of pesticides in wheat various in vitro experiments were carried out in the laboratory at All India Network Project on Pesticide Residues, ICAR Unit-9, Center for Organic Farming, Anand Agricultural University, Anand during October 2006 to March 2007. The grains free from pesticides were treated with known concentration of five pesticides viz. chlorpyrifos, fipronil, endosulfan, λ-cyhalothrin and deltamethrin to get initial expected deposit in the range of 5-10 ppm. The grains were stored for four months under known conditions and then processed to flour, chapattis and bread using commercial processing methods. The residue analysis of the grains (at monthly intervals) as well as the processed commodities was carried out using GLCECD.

EFFECT OF PHOSPHORUS AND SULPHUR ON YIELD AND QUALITY OF SOYBEAN [Glycine max (L.) Merrill] GROWN ON TYPIC USTOCHREPT OF ANAND”
(Anand Agricultural University, Anand, 2012) RAMESH GURJAR; Dr. J. C. Patel
he field experiment was carried out on sandy loam soil at Agronomy farm, B. A. college of Agriculture, AAU, Anand, Gujarat during kharif season of 2011 to study the “Effect of phosphorus and sulphur on yield and quality of soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill] grown on Typic Ustochrept of Anand”. The experiment was laid out in a randomized block design with factorial concept, comprising sixteen treatment combinations of four levels of P (0, 20, 40 and 60 kg P205 ha-1) and four levels of S (0, 10, 20 and 30 kg S ha-1) which were replicated four times. The results indicated that application of P @ 60 kg P205 ha-1 resulted in

“EFFECT OF TYPE OF BIOCHAR ON GROWTH, DRY MATTER YIELD AND NUTRITION OF MAIZE (Zea mays L.) GROWN ON SANDY LOAM SOILS OF MIDDLE GUJARAT”
(Anand Agricultural University, Anand, 2013) NARESH KUMAR YADAV; Dr. P.C.Patel
A field experiment was conducted during kharif season of 2011- 12 at Agricultural Research Station, Sansoli, Taluka – Mehamdabad, District – Kheda. The present investigation was undertaken to study on “Effect of type of biochar on growth, dry matter yield and nutrition of maize (Zea mays L.) grown on sandy loam soils of middle Gujarat” The field experiment was conducted with sixteen treatments, replicated thrice under randomized block design. For the experiment, three different biochars like maize stover biochar, cluster bean stover biochar and Prosopis julifera wood biochar were tested. The farm yard manure (FYM) treatments were also kept for comparison. The biochar and FYM both were applied @ 5 t and 10 t ha-1. The recommended dose of fertilizer (RDF) (80-40-0 kg ha-1 N-P-K) was applied in eight treatments and remaining eight treatments comprised with biochar and FYM application. The full dose of P applied in the form of single super phosphate @ 40 kg ha-1 whereas N
