MOLECULAR AND BIOCHEMICAL CHARACTERIZATION OF SOME ELITE GENOTYPES OF FINGER MILLET (Eleusine coracana L. Gaertn
(Anand Agricultural University, 2008) MORE AMAR SUDARSHAN; Dr. Y. M. Shukla
Finger millet (Eleusine coracana (L.) Gaertn.) is one of the important millets followed by Pearl millet. It is highly nutritious and has got adaptability to a wide range of climatic zones. The present investigation was carried out at Molecular Biology Laboratory, Department of Biochemistry, B. A. College of Agriculture, Anand Agricultural University, Anand to study the varietal differences with the help of molecular techniques viz. random amplification of polymorphic DNA [RAPD (20 primers)] and single sequence repeats [SSR (9 mapped microsatellite loci) ] as well as by the analysis of proximate composition, isozymes banding pattern and seed protein profiling of 30 finger millet genotypes received from all over country
