The field experiment was conducted on “Effect of silicon and sulphur on yield and chemical composition on rice and its residual effect on wheat in loamy sand soil” during the kharif and rabi seasons for two years 2016-17 and 2017-18 at Regional Research Station farm, Anand Agricultural University, Anand (Gujarat). The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with factorial concept, comprising twelve treatment combinations of four levels of silicon (Si) (0, 150, 300 and 450 kg ha-1) and three levels of sulphur (S) (0, 20 and 40 kg ha-1) with three replication. The soil of the experimental field was loamy sand in texture with the pH of 7.8 and organic carbon 0.30 %. The soluble salts (EC) content was medium and an overall mean value of 0.23 dS m-1.The status of available nutrients Si (68.73 mg kg-1), P2O5 (32.58 kg ha-1), S (9.81 mg kg-1), Fe (7.31 mg kg-1) and Zn (1.23 mg kg-1). The treatments were applied in rice crop and residual effect was studied in wheat crop. The recommended dose of NPK was applied to rice and wheat crop at the time of sowing.
