ThesisItem Open Access Studies on Genetic Diversity in natural Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus Thunb.) Populations of Rajasthan(DEPARTMENT OF BIOTECHNOLOGY COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE RAJASTHAN AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY BIKANER (RAJASTHAN), 2009) Jitendra Kumar Bhakhar; R. A. SharmaThe present investigation was carried out to estimate genetic diversity at molecular level (RAPD) for twenty three genotypes of watermelon (Citrullus lanatus Thunb.). RAPD analysis was conducted using 14 random primers of which eight primers produced 41 bands, 39 being polymorphic, generating 95% polymorphism. Jaccard similarity index based on RAPD revealed 49.6% average similarity with a range of 28% to 86%.ThesisItem Open Access Impact of Krishi Vigyan Kendra's Training Programmes on Knowledge and Adoption of Home Science Technologies in Sikar District of Rajasthan(Department of Home Science Extension and Communication Management College of Home Science Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner, 2009) Suman Khandelwal; Dr. (Mrs.) Madhu GoyalWomen are the main part not only for the family but also an important part of the society and nation. Farm women play an active role in meeting all the needs of the family, they must be equipped with the latest knowledge and expertise, which is possible through education and training.ThesisItem Open Access A Comparative Study of Assessment of parent-child relationship as perceived by Adolescents of Government Senior Secondary Schools of Bikaner City (Rajasthan)(Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner College of Home Science, Bikaner Department of Human Development and Family Studies, 2008) Sunita K. Chouhan; Dr. (Mrs.) Madhu GoyalThe present study was undertaken to asses and compare selected dimensions of parent-child relationship of adolescent boys and girls (12-18 years) studying in Govt. Senior Secondary Schools of Bikaner city (Rajasthan). The total sample for the present study consisted of randomly selected 180 adolescents (90 boys and 90 girls) from six randomly selected Government Senior Secondary Schools. Data were collected through a standardized tool i.e. Parent-Child Relationship scale developed by Rao (2001).ThesisItem Open Access Marketing of Fruit and Vegetables in Hadoti Region of Rajasthan(INSTITUTE OF AGRI BUSINESS MANAGEMENT RAJASTHAN AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY BIKANER-334006, 2008) Subhash Chandra Nagar; Dr. Chitra HenryThesisItem Open Access Combining Ability Analysis for Yield and its Components in Bread Wheat (Triticum aestivum L. em. Thell.) over Environments(RAJASTHAN AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY, BIKANER S.K.N. COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE, JOBNER, 2008) Sita Ram Pancholi; S. N. SHARMATen genetically diverse parents of bread wheat namely, HP 1863, WH 786, UP 2611, HUW 567, Raj 4058, PBW 533, JKW 8, UP 2590, HD 2859 and PBW 509 were crossed in a diallel fashion (excluding reciprocals) and resulting 45 F1s, 45 F2s and parents were evaluated under three different sowing dates viz., 01st November (E1), 20th November (E2) and 20th December (E3) in RBD with three replications during rabi 2004-05. Significant differences among the genotypes on pooled basis as well as in individual environments were observed for all the traits, namely, days to heading, days to maturity, plant height , number of tillers per plant, flag leaf area, peduncle length, ear length, number of spikelets per ear, number of grains per ear, 1000-grain weight , grain weight per ear, biological yield per plant , harvest index and grain yield per plant, Combining ability analysis indicated that both GCA and SCA variances were significant on pooled as well as individual environment basis for most of the characters.ThesisItem Open Access Hormonal Induction of Estrus and Cyclicity in Postpartum Anestrus Cows of Bos Indicus of Semi-Arid Region of Rajasthan(Department of Animal Reproduction Gynaecology and Obstetrics College of Veterinary and Animal Science Rajasthan Agricultural University, BIKANER-334001, 2008) RAJESH KUMAR CHOUDHARY; J.S. MehtaVarious hormonal regimens were tried to ensue reproductive activity in prolonged postpartum anestrous cows of B. indicus. The cows were assigned as control (no hormonal treatment - inj. N.S. S/c O.D × 7d) and hormonal regimens as T1 (P – IVS – intravaginal sponge impregnated with 1.5 g progesterone for 7d); T2 (P – inj. progesterone – 150 mg s/c O.D × 7d); T3 (PE – inj progesterone – 150 mg s/c O.D × 7 d + inj. estradiol valerate 5 mg i.m. O.D on day 1); T4 (PeCG – inj progesterone – 150 mg s/c O.D × 7 d + inj. eCG – 400 I.U. i.m. O.D on d 7) and T5 (PEeCG – inj progesterone – 150 mg s/c O.D × 7 d + inj. estradiol valerate 5 mg i.m. O.D On d 1 + inj. eCG – 400 I.U. i.m. O.D on d 7).ThesisItem Open Access Development and Quality Evaluation of Kachri Powder - A Convenient Arid Souring Agent(Department of Food and Nutrition College of Home Science Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner, 2008) Sonal Bhargava; (Mrs.) Vimla DunkwalThe arid fruit kachri (Cucumis callosus) was studied to develop technology for its powder and to study standardized powders for nutritional composition, shelf life and acceptability for different culinary uses. Peeling, blanching and sulphuring were the pre drying treatments and thus blanched, unblanched, peeled, unpeeled, sulphured and non sulphured samples of kachri were dried separately in solar and mechanical tray driers.ThesisItem Open Access Performance of Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) in Bikaner District(DEPARTMENT OF HOME SCIENCE EXTENSION AND COMMUNICATION MANAGEMENT COLLEGE OF HOME SCIENCE, BIKANER RAJASTHAN AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY, BIKANER, 2008) VINOD KUMARI; Dr. (Mrs.) Deepali DhawanJanani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) is a safe motherhood intervention under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) being implemented with the objective of reducing maternal and neo-natal mortality by promoting institutional delivery among the poor pregnant women.ThesisItem Open Access Studies on Value Addition of Aonla (Emblica officinalis Gaertn.) Varieties(Department of Horticulture College of Agriculture, Bikaner Rajasthan Agricultural University, 2008) Madan Lal Choudhary; I.M. VermaThe present study was carried out at the Department of Horticulture, College of Agriculture, Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner (Rajasthan) during 2006-07. The experimental material consisted of three cultivars of aonla and six recipes of different beverages (squash, syrup and nectar) and chutney. There were 18 treatment combinations with three replications. The experiment was carried out in completely randomized design with factorial arrangement. The fruits of aonla cultivars were analysed for chemical characters at full maturity. The value added products prepared from different cultivars and recipes were also analysed periodically at 30 days interval for their various physico-chemical constituents parameters.
