Management of Whitefly, Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) in Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum Mill)
(Department of Entomology COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE, BIKANER SWAMI KESHWANAND RAJASTHAN AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY, BIKANER, 2018) PAWAN KUMAR; A.R. Naqvi
The present investigations on"Management of Whitefly, Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) in Tomato, (Solanum lycopersicum Mill)" were carried out at Agronomy farm, College of Agriculture, (SKRAU), Bikaner during Rabi, 2017-18. Studies were conducted on the seasonal incidence of whitefly on tomato, Impact of different inter-crop combination in whitefly population and different spray schedule against whitefly Bemisia tabaci. The incidence of whitefly initiated in the second week of December on tomato. The population increased gradually and reached to its peak in second week of March, A significant positive correlation was recorded between pest population and maximum and minimum temperature whereas, it was nonsignificant negative with relative humidity maximum and a significant negative correlation with minimum relative humidity. A non- significant negative correlation was computed between pest population and total rainfall.
