    Clinico-therapeutic studies on Camel helminthioses in and around Bikaner

    The present investigation was carried out in two hundred and fifty camel in and around Bikaner. On the basis of clinical manifestations and faecal examination an overall prevalence of gastrointestinal helminths was 97 (38.8%), of them 84 (86.60%) showed single and 13 (13.40%) showed mixed infection. Out of 97 camels, prevalence of Strongyle spp. was highest 84 (86.60%) followed by 8 (8.25%) Strongyloides spp. and 5 (5.15%) Trichuris spp. The clinical signs in gastrointestinal helminths infested camel included inappetence, dullness, anorexia, rough hair coat, and general weakness, loss of body weight, eating of inanimate objects and pale conjunctival mucous membrane. The faeces consistency varied from soft semi solid to pellet form.

    An attempt to diagnose the Canine distemper in dogs in early stage by Rapigen canine distemper Ag test kit at Medicine clinic of college of veterinary and animal science, Bikaner and polyclinic, Jaipur. Out off 52 dogs, 10 dogs were suffering from canine distemper and compared with 10 apparently healthy dogs.

    Studies on Haemato-Biochemical and Mineral Status of Ketotic Cows

    This study was conducted on ketosis in and around Bikaner in the year 2007-08. The prevalence was higher in 6 to 9 years of age, 0 to 1 months post-partum, between second and forth lactation and particularly in November-December months. The major clinical manifestations were abrupt decrease in milk-yield, cessation of feeding of concentrate, decreased fodder intake, firm mucous- coated faeces, constipation and acetone like obour in urine of severe cases of ketosis. The temperature, pulse and respiration rate were in normal range in ketotic cows.

    An attempt to evaluate clinical studies and therapeutic effects on digestive disorders viz. indigestion, enteritis and impaction of rumen was made at Medicine Clinic of College of Veterinary and Animal Science, Bikaner, on a total number of 30 camels suffering from digestive disorders and compared with 10 apparently healthy camels.
