    The range of textiles available to people has developed over centuries, which is a result of the development of technology. Further as we go back in history we see limited choices in textiles. Thus, in any society the textiles available at any given time are an indicator of the technological development of the society. Today there is need to preserve the beauty of the crafts and to encourage the survival of creative skills in a world of compition. The Karni Mata temple of Deshnok situated 32 km. south of Bikaner city is known as “Temple of Rats”. The temple has most beautiful stone carvings which became a source of inspiration for the researcher to create several designs suitable for apparel.

    The present research was undertaken to explore the possibilities of weaving blended fabric from Chokla wool and Camel hair blended yarn, to assess the mechanical and functional properties of blended fabrics and to evaluate tactile properties of blended fabrics through subjective evaluation.
