Dairy sector plays a major role in agriculture and food policy because it is about a part of the value of agricultural production of India and dairy products are a traditional and important component of the average diet. Since the early years with the expansion of a large but low-yielding milk-giving herd and a large and domestic market, India has the potential to have more significant role as a dairy product exporter and importer in the dairy sector.
